1.Mighty man, why boast of evil?
All the day God’s love is faithful.
With your sharpened razor-tongue
you plot harm, deceitful one.
You love evil more than goodness,
lying more than speaking justice.
You love words that will devour,
O you tongue of crafty pow’r.
2.God will break you down forever,
snatch and tear you from your shelter.
He will pluck you from the ground
where the living can be found.
Just men fear and say with laughter,
“See the man who sought disaster,
spurning God as his defense,
making wealth his confidence.”
3.But in God’s house I’m abiding
like an olive tree that’s thriving.
I am trusting evermore
in your steadfast love, O Lord.
I give thanks with endless praises,
for I know that you have done this.
I will hope in your good name,
in the presence of the saints.
