1 LORD, hear me when I call to you;
relieve my agony.
You are a true and righteous God:
be merciful to me.
2 You people, why persist in lies,
in trampling on God's name?
How long will you seek worthless gods
that bring despair and shame?
3 Know that the LORD has set apart
the godly as his heirs;
I know that when I call on him,
the LORD will hear my prayers.
4 In anger do not sin, but think
on all that God has done.
Present to God a righteous heart
and trust the Holy One.
5 Though many others ask in doubt,
""Who shows us any good?""
we pray with fervor, ""Let your face
shine over us, O LORD.""
6 You fill my heart with greater joy
than others get from wine.
Their harvest may be plentiful,
but happiness is mine!
7 I will lie down and sleep in peace;
my rest is calm and sure.
I know that you alone, O LORD,
can make my life secure.
LORD, HEAR ME WHEN I CALL TO YOU
First Line:
LORD, hear me when I call to you; relieve my agony.
