See our Lord the Prince of heaven
Think of all He left behind
All the Father’s loving presence
Heart-to-heart and unconfined
Christ descended to our darkness
Shared our tears and shared our bread
Shared the fullness of our dying
Took His place among our dead
Verse 2
But all Hades could not hold Him
Or constrain His mighty Word
He proclaimed unbounded freedom
Till the hearts of all had heard
Christ the Light has banished darkness
Christ the Life has raised the dead
Now the gates of hell are open
Christ has crushed the serpent’s head

See our Savior now ascending
Countless thousands in His train
Heaven’s gates are standing open
Death itself is heaven’s gain
Easter people live His praises
Let each fear before Him fall
He is joy and peace and freedom
Life and light and All-in-all
