Shall we continue in our shameful ways
Shall we keep sinning in the name of grace
Our tie to sin is severed–
How could it then be treasured
Grace has come to reign

Shall we believe that we have died with Christ
Did we not rise when Jesus burst alive
Sin’s reign no longer fatal–
Its pow’r has been disabled
We possess new life

Shall we not fight sin’s claim to rule the throne
Shall we not give ourselves to God alone
Our lust brings us disaster–
The flesh will not be master
Sin is overthrown

We shall not fear the day when death arrives
The time at last when we shall be like Christ
He robbed the grave its wages
And gave a gift more gracious–
His eternal life
