Verse 1

How lovely is your house O LORD
My soul is yearning for your courts
My heart cries out my spirit falters
For even sparrows find a nest
Near you my God a place to rest
The swallow nestles at your altar
How blest are singers in your place
Who give you their unceasing praise

Verse 2

How happy those who trust the LORD
Whose strength is in the living God
They know the highways to his mountain
When they walk through the valleys low
His perfect peace will overflow
And spring within them like a fountain
They go from strength to strength in faith
Until they see God's holy place

Verse 3

O LORD Almighty hear my plea
O God of Jacob grant to me
Your wondrous love beyond all measure
A single day spent at your door
Is better than a thousand more
That are consumed in sinful pleasure
O may I find my true reward
Within the presence of the LORD

Verse 4

The LORD God is our sun and shield
His favor shines on all who yield
Their lives to him in faithful service
No precious gift will he withhold
From those belonging to his fold
He honors all whose walk is blameless
How happy those who trust the LORD
Who live according to his word
