Wise men journeyed from afar
Led to Jesus by the star,
Bearing incense, myrrh, and gold
For the Christ whom bards foretold.
From the eastern lands they trod
To adore the Song of God;
Contrite hearts to Him they bring,
For this Babe is born a King.
Priceless gift beyond compare
God's own Son awaits us there;
All mankind He honors thus,
Choosing now to dwell with us.
All who seek this Child so fair
Find in Him a treasure rare;
All who view the manger stall
Find this Babe the Lord of all.
Father, as these men of old
Did the guiding star behold
So within Thy Word may we
Find the light that leads to Thee.
