I walked along a lonely road:
I bore a heavy load
No light my eyes could see;
Then Jesus called me by my name,
And from my sin and shame,
In love He set me free;
He took my sin on Calvary;
For me He died in agony.
I opened up my hear to Him,
He came to live within,
I'm His eternally.
And now I walk a happy road,
For Jesus takes my load,
And walks along with me;
He hears and answers ev'ry prayer,
His tender love and care
Surround me constantly;
I'll trust the One who died for me;
And when my path I cannot see,
I'll hold to His unchanging hand,
And know the way He planned
Is always best for me.
Someday I'll se my Savior's face,
The One who did erase
My sins at Calvary;
I'll praise Him for amazing grace
That opened up a place
In heaven just for me;
All sin and sorrow will be o'er,
When I shall reach that golden shore;
With saints and angels I will dwell,
And thru the ages tell
How Jesus died for me.
