1.O praise the LORD, for it is good
to sing unto our God;
’tis right and pleasant for his saints
to tell his praise abroad.
The LORD builds up Jerusalem;
he seeks her exiled sons.
He binds their wounds and gently heals
the brokenhearted ones.
2.Our Lord is great, he calls by name
and counts the stars of night;
His wisdom is unsearchable,
and wondrous is his might.
The LORD lifts up the poor and meek,
he brings the wicked low.
Sing praise to him and give him thanks;
and all his goodness show.
3. O praise the LORD in joyful song,
with harp your thanks proclaim.
The heav’ns above he fills with clouds
and show’rs the earth with rain.
The LORD adorns the hills with grass;
and gives the beasts their food.
He hears the ravens when they cry,
and fills their young with good.
4.No human might, no earthly pride,
delights the LORD above.
In those who fear him he delights,
in those who trust his love.
O Zion, praise the LORD your God,
his wondrous love confess;
he is your glory and your strength,
he will your children bless.
5.Within your land his peace he brings,
with finest wheat he fills.
His word goes swiftly through the earth
to clothe with snow the hills.
He sends the frostand icy blast,
O who can stand his cold?
He bids the wind to melt them all,
and makes the waters flow.
6.His word to Jacob he declares,
to them his judgments show;
to Israel, his chosen race,
he makes his statutes known.
No other nation is so blest;
they do not know his law;
O Zion, praise the LORD your God,
his praise proclaim with awe!
