Remember all the times when God provided,
when hope seemed lost and laughter but a dream.
Our wand’ring hearts, at times, have been misguided.
And yet our God continues to redeem.
Abundant God, you gift us holy manna,
a steadfast love, a never-ending stream.
The Israelites in wilderness had wondered.
They missed their homes where they could eat their fill.
With angry hearts, their fate and fears they pondered.
Poor Moses prayed as they prepared to kill.
Then from the sky fell flakes of holy manna.
The people ate. God’s grace abided still.
An upper room held Christ with friends at table.
He broke the bread and passed the cup around.
With anguished heart, he spoke while he was able,
”Remember me. My life I’ll soon lay down.”
The Risen Lord, in form of holy manna,
will nurse us still. God’s love and life abound.
