1 With contrite hearts and holy fear
we come, with God to dine.
We taste, we touch, we see his love
in this, the bread and wine.
The cup of blessing that we bless,
the bread that we now break,
are pledges of the covenant
that God in Christ did make.
Refrain:
Taste and see that God is good,
let us exalt his name together.
May your steadfast love rest on us, Lord,
even as we hope in you.
2 As children of this covenant
we are forever blest.
Through Christ we are made right with God,
our fears are laid to rest.
Our sins are pardoned through his blood,
by grace we are redeemed;
we have become inheritors
of kingdoms yet unseen. Refrain
3 This great salvation God has wrought
is ours but ours to share.
The needy of the world must know
the Savior's gracious care.
The homeless, hungry, lost, and sick
may not escape our eyes,
for Jesus' love embraces them;
for them too he has died. Refrain
