1.The LORD in your distress attend;
may Jacob’s God protect you well,
and from his holy place send help
and strengthen you from Zion’s hill.
2.May he regard your sacrifice,
and all your off’rings bear in mind;
O may he grant your heart’s desire,
fulfilling all that you designed.
3.May we in your salvation joy,
our banners raise in God’s great name.
O may the LORD fulfill your prayers
and grant you all you ask of him.
4.And this I know: the LORD will save
and his anointed one defend
with saving might of his right hand,
from holy heav’n an answer send.
5. In chariots some have confidence,
and some in horses take their pride,
but we boast only one defense:
the name of God, the LORD Most High.
6. Now we arise and stand upright,
while they, subdued and helpless, fall.
O by your hand, LORD, save the king,
and may he answer when we call.
