1. Let all things now living a song of thanksgiving
to God the Creator triumphantly raise,
who fashioned and made us, protected and stayed us,
who guides us and leads to the end of our days.
His banners are o’er us, His light goes before us,
a pillar of fire shining forth in the night,
till shadows have vanished and darkness is banished,
as forward we travel from light into light.
2. The whole of creation is now deeply longing
and waiting to see her Redeemer appear;
for then He will finish the rescue He started
when He first announced that God's kingdom was near.
Now bodily risen, ascended and reigning,
so bodily He will return to His own;
and we will be called forth from death's earthly prison
and bodily kneel to the King on His throne.
3. Then justice will flow back through all of creation;
each wrong will be righted, all damage undone.
And grace will receive and establish forever
all good that's come forth out of love for the Son.
Reclaimed and restored in the light of His presence,
released into joy from the bondage of night;
with suffering healed and eternally banished,
creation breaks forth into endless delight.
4 Remade in His image, at last fully human,
all work will be pleasure, its fruit, our reward.
Transformed by the joy of His unhindered presence,
all life will be worship of our Triune Lord.
The Power that set every star in the heavens,
the Word that once called all creation to birth;
the Lord who first fashioned our lives in His image
will finally dwell with His people on earth.
