1.To you, O LORD, I cry; my Rock,
do not be deaf to my lament.
If you are silent I become
like those that to the pit descend.
2.Receive my plea for mercy, LORD,
as now I call to you for grace;
I lift my hands to you in prayer
and look to your most holy place.
3.O drag me not away with those
who practice wickedness and sin,
who kindly to their neighbors speak,
but harbor malice deep within.
4.Repay them for their evil deeds
according to their wickedness;
bring back on them their just reward
and punish their unrighteousness.
5. Because they slight the works of God
and treat his actions with disdain,
in justice he will tear them down
and never build them up again.
6. Blest be the LORD, for he has heard
the plea for mercy which I made.
The LORD God is my strength and shield;
I trust in him who sends me aid.
7. My heart uplifted leaps for joy;
my thanks to him I gladly sing.
The LORD God is his people’s strength,
a saving fortress for his king.
8. O save your people, your own flock,
and bless your heritage, dear LORD.
Attend them with a shepherd’s care
and carry them forevermore.
