1 Whoever shelters with the LORD
and lives within the Almighty's shade
can say, "My God, in whom I trust,
your refuge makes me unafraid!"
2 The faithful LORD will spare you death.
God's wings will cover you from harm.
No terror, sickness, night or day,
will ever cause you grave alarm.
3 Though thousands perish at your side,
such punishment shall not touch you.
Because the LORD serves as your home,
God's grace will always see you through.
4 God gives his angels charge of you
to guard from those who persecute.
You shall not trip against a stone,
but trample serpents underfoot.
5 "Because you cleave to me in love
and know my name to call in need,
I shall protect and keep you safe
with blessing, glory, life indeed."
